
BIO
Benjamin holds degrees in violin performance from Butler University and the University of Miami. He is currently completing his doctorate at the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, studying with Timothy Lees.
Benjamin has extensive experience in orchestral leadership, having served as Concertmaster of the Hendrick's Symphony Orchestra, Acting Concertmaster of the Kokomo and Columbus Symphonies, and Acting Associate Concertmaster of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra.
As a chamber musician, Benjamin has performed for the Greencastle Summer Music Festival, Butler University's Duckwall Artist Series, Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival, and Detroit Institute of Art's Friday Night Live. He has trained under members of the Cleveland, Vermeer, Ying, Dover, and Ariel String Quartets. Benjamin also gained valuable administrative experience by serving for two summers as Dean of the Castleman Quartet Program.
As a teacher, Benjamin has guided his students to win concerto competitions at their heigh schools, and to earn full music scholarships at the collegiate level. His students regularly receive gold medals at ISSMA, and have been invited to participate in the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's Side-by-Side program.
Besides music, Benjamin loves reading, exercising, tending and eating his home-grown tomatoes, and spending time with his wife, Aubrey.
